The history of the establishment of the Center

The term Industry 4.0 was first used in 2011 at the Hanover trade fair. Since then, government programs and activities of many organizations aimed at transforming companies, in particular the digitization of processes and products and their personalization, have appeared in virtually all industrialized countries in the world.

Also at the Silesian University of Technology, work has been carried out for many years related to the development and implementation of the latest technologies.

Silesian Competence Center of Industry 4.0

Established on February 21, 2018 as a joint initiative of the Katowice Special Economic Zone and the Silesian University of Technology.
