Seminar at the Faculty of Materials Engineering

From the 15th to 17th October 2024, at the Silesian University of Technology, a meeting of the contractors of the project entitled “Coating thermal barriers for ecological applications related to heat conversion into energy: Understanding the limitations in hydrogen combustion conditions and the perspective of sustainable development” was held. The seminar was attended by representatives of an international consortium from Poland, Germany, and France.

The participants of the meeting visited the Faculty of Materials Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology in Katowice and the Upper Silesian Institute of Technology – the Lukasiewicz Research Network in Gliwice.

- Scientists from the Silesian University of Technology, the Upper Silesian Institute of Technology – Lukasiewicz, Avio Aero, Fraunhofer IWS, the German Centre for Aviation and Cosmonautics (DLR) and MINES Paris – (PSL), discussed the topic of thermal barrier coating (TBC) and during the three-day seminar presented the results of their research so far – said Dr Hab Eng. Bogusław Mendala, Prof. SUT, of the Faculty of Materials Engineering.

The meeting of the project’s contractors took place for the second time.
