Silesian University of Technology and the University of Silesia are pleased to invite you to the inauguration of the “Week of Games” organized as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024. The event will take place on 4 November 2024 from 9:30 to 15:00 in the building of the European HealthTech Innovation Centre (EHTIC) of the Silesian University of Technology in Zabrze (Roosevelta 40a, 41-800 Zabrze).

The aim of the event is to popularize innovative solutions on the border of science and technology, in particular those using computer games, virtual technology (VR) and augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine and sports training. The inauguration will provide a unique opportunity to showcase the latest developments in this field.

The program of the event includes popular science lectures, a discussion panel on the safety of products using AI/VR/AR and presentations of practical technological solutions. An important point of the program will be the discussion on the applications of simulators and AI/VR/AR applications in medicine and measures to ensure their safe implementation.

Guests will also have the opportunity to watch VR/AR technology demonstrations and get acquainted with the presentation of the Virtual Reality Technology Laboratory at EHTIC.

A wide range of experts were invited to the event, including representatives of the medical world, scientists, industry representatives and students of technical and medical faculties.

The inauguration of the “Week of Games” aims to combine the world of science, technology, and practice in one place, creating a unique space for exchanging experiences and establishing cooperation in the field of modern solutions supporting medicine and sport.
