New calls for Fulbright programs have been announced. The Fulbright Program is the largest scientific and cultural exchange program in the United States. We also invite you to participate in American Day in Katowice, which will take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

TopMinds – we recruit mentees
The call for the 2025th edition of the TopMinds mentoring program has started. We invite people preparing doctoral dissertations in Polish universities or scientific and research institutions, as well as people studying in the last year of master’s studies who are planning their career in the field of science. Applications are welcome from people who stand out in the scientific field, full of passion and ambition, who focus not only on success in the academic environment, but also on constant development. We particularly invite people representing the humanities and social sciences to participate.
The partners of this year’s edition are the Częstochowa University of Technology and the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The deadline for applications is 29 October at 16:00.

Fulbright Slavic Award 2025-26 – apply
Fulbright Slavic Award 2025-26 is a didactic scholarship designed for people employed in Polish higher education institutions whose scientific interests are related to culture (literature, media, art) or history, politics, economics of Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. The scholarship is also addressed to people with knowledge of the realities (literature, art, history) of the USA, who want to disseminate knowledge about Poland among American students and students.
The scholarship allows you to travel to the USA for 4 months to conduct didactic classes at one of two universities cooperating with the Polish American Fulbright Commission: University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and the Ohio State University in Columbus (OSU).
Applications are accepted until 9 December 2024 at 15:00 Polish time. We invite you to participate in information sessions concerning this year’s call, which will take place on 6 November and 3 December this year

Fulbright Schuman 2025-26 – recruitment in progress
The Fulbright Schuman Award is a scholarship for the implementation of one’s own research and/or teaching projects concerning the policies and areas of activity of the European Union and relations between the United States and the European Union in all scientific disciplines. Scholarships are intended for students; preparing a doctoral dissertation; covering scientific positions; employed in public administration positions; specializing in international education and professionals. The Fulbright Schuman Award 2025-26 also includes applications for the Fulbright-NATO Security Studies Award. This is a program for people who have at least a PhD degree for conducting research and/or lectures at an American institution for a period of three months in fields of study related to NATO, including, but not limited to, cybersecurity, military history, nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, peace and security, security studies and transatlantic studies.

Fulbright Specialist – recruitment for Polish institutions
Would you like to invite an American expert to Poland for a short-term visit? Take advantage of the Fulbright Specialist 2025-26 program, which allows Polish institutions to establish cooperation with outstanding American specialists and specialists, as well as joint implementation of projects (from 2 to 6 weeks). The stay of a specialist in Poland may be connected with, among others, conducting lectures and workshops, participation in conferences, consultations in the field of program works, performing evaluations and expert opinions, or developing local research projects.
Priority is given to projects dedicated to sharing, disseminating, and implementing best practices for innovative education. The Commission also encourages Polish institutions to implement projects aimed at supporting Ukraine and/or refugees from Ukraine.

BioLab 2025-26 Program – apply now!
The BioLab program is a one-year internship for students of biological-chemical, biophysical, medical and related sciences (biology, biochemistry, biophysics, bioinformatics, biotechnology, physics, pharmacy, medicine, etc.) at four American scientific institutions: University of Chicago, University of Virginia, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Centre and Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
During the internship, students conduct independent research in modern laboratories under the supervision of experienced mentors. The results of the conducted research are often published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. In addition, they take an active part in the life of the American university, participate in seminars, guest lectures, and learn about American culture.

American Day in Katowice
We invite you to participate in American Day in Katowice, which will take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 11:30-13:00, at the International Congress Centre in Katowice as part of the 2-day European Congress of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (October 29-30).
During American Day there will be an opportunity to listen to a discussion panel, with the participation of scholarship holders and scholarship holders, organized by the Polish American Fulbright Commission. Our speakers will discuss issues related to Polish American academic exchange, including sharing their experience of participation in various exchange programs, motivation to travel to the USA (and return), as well as how foreign travel has affected and affects their careers, universities, and the environment in which they operate. Participation in the panel is free of charge, it is necessary to register for the Congress (link).

Invite an American scholarship holder to your school
The Education USA Centre, operating at the Polish American Fulbright Commission, encourages secondary schools and universities to invite American scholarship holders to visit their institutions. The meeting may cover issues related to American culture (music, film, sports, literature, or American holidays) and/or opportunities for students and students to travel to the USA (studies, exchange programs, internships, and internships).
Scholarship holders will also be happy to talk about their universities in the USA, their hometowns, and regions of the USA, and can also talk about their research interests.
