Silesian University of Technology will be present at the European SME Congress
On the 29th and 30th of October, Katowice will host the 14th edition of the European Congress of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ECSME). During the event, the debates will be attended by scientists of the Silesian University of Technology, who you will also be able to meet at the stand of our University.
The largest European meeting of the SME sector will take place next week at the International Congress Centre in Katowice. It is safe to say that this will be a meeting on which the future will depend. The theme of this year’s ECSME is “Shape the future now.”
“- We have to look ahead. Business and the economy face many risks, many unknowns, and many challenges. Anticipating them, one can prepare for them” – believes Tomasz Zjawiony, President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Katowice, organizer of the congress.
The rich program of the Katowice Congress is divided into nine thematic tracks. The main one, of course, will be “Shape the future now.” The organizers of the ECSME prepared a lot of interesting discussions. The panel participants’ perspective is to look into the future, like - for example - in a session devoted to a new vision of Europe.
During this year’s congress under the patronage of the European Commission, during the Congress, we will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of Poland’s accession to the European Union by organizing a dedicated thematic path.
This year, in addition to panels and debates, in which scientists of the Silesian University of Technology will participate, we also invite you to our science zones of the Silesian University of Technology.

29.10.2024 11.45 – Discussion panel with selected representatives of the Academic Consortium of the European City of Science – Katowice 2024: “Transfer of knowledge and technology as an instrument of socio-economic development”.
29.10.2024 at 12.45 – Announcement of the winners of the competition “Innovation Leader of the European City of Science 2024”.
30.10.2024 – consultations with CITT brokers will take place in the science zone of the Silesian University of Technology.
Let us remind you that the European Congress of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ECSME) is the largest event in Europe dedicated to companies from the SME sector. Since 2011, the Congress has been serving as a platform for gaining new knowledge, exchanging views, inspiration and building business relationships.
During the thirteen previous editions of the Congress, tens of thousands of entrepreneurs and experts from all over the world took part in the event. The participants of the Congress are not only representatives of the business sector, but also government administration, local government, business environment institutions and the world of science and culture.
