The Housing Estate Game awarded in Germany
The HOUSING ESTSTE GAME, created at the Faculty of Architecture, was appreciated at the International Design Educates Awards competition. The game won first place in the “Project of the year 2024” category. A few days ago, the award was personally received by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Dr Hab. Eng. Arch. Tomasz Bradecki, Prof. of Silesian University of Technology
In Melle, Germany, awards were presented in the Design Educates Awards competition. Among the winners was the Housing Estate Game, project, implemented by a team from the Silesian University of Technology. The game was developed by the Student Science Club “Urban Model,” operating at the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology.
Design Educates is a cyclical competition that is gaining more and more importance. The jury consists of world-renowned designers and professionals who combine passion for design with science.
Several hundred works from all over the world are involved in the competition every year. This year, among the winners and nominees were Holzim nd Norman Foster Foundation, Morphosis architect, Barcode architects & BIG, WXCA, which shows that in the category of architecture, both highly recognized and awarded projects, as well as smaller and not necessarily popular ones were recognized.
"If we take into account the above and the world rank of the competition, as an URBAN MODEL Science Club group with a short, two-year tradition, we feel very honoured to win the main prize in such an international, distinguished company" - said Prof. Bradecki.
