The visit of the delegation from Ajou University in Tashkent at the Silesian University of Technology
A week-long visit of representatives from Ajou University in Tashkent, headed by prof. Muratov Gayrat Azazovich, Rector of AUT, at the Silesian University of Technology came to an end. The culmination of the visit was the signing of a cooperation agreement between universities.
Ajou University in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) is a branch of the Korean university under the same name. In Tashkent, AUT was established in spring 2021 to educate highly qualified staff in line with the prospects of Uzbekistan’s socio-economic development.
The main purpose of the visit of AUT representatives was to get acquainted with the research and didactic potential of the Silesian University of Technology and to identify common areas for cooperation between universities. Guests from the University of Ajou met with Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Arkadiusz Mężyk, Rector of the SUT of the previous term, Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Sebastian Werle, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, Anna Chrobok , Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education, Prof. Dr Eng. Grzegorz Kłapyta, Head of the International Relations Office and authorities of most of the departments of the Silesian University of Technology.
Representatives of AUT visited the university campus and selected laboratories of the Silesian University of Technology, as well as the European HealthTech Innovation Centre (EHTIC) at SUT, the Academic Aviation Training Centre at SUT, the Biotechnology Centre at SUT, the Museum of Deposits Geology named after Czesław Poborski and the radio station in Gliwice.
The culmination of the visit was the ceremonial signing of a cooperation agreement between the Silesian University of Technology and Ajou University. On the part of the Silesian University of Technology, the Agreement was concluded by Prof. Dr Hab. Marek Pawełczyk, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, and from Ajou University, by the Rector Prof. Muratov Gayrat Azazovich. The agreement is intended to promote and further develop international cooperation in the fields of higher education, research, and development.
