Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Arkadiusz Mężyk, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, took the honorary patronage of The First Scientific Conference “Security Aspects in Science and Practice in the Transformation Process,” which will take place on 19-20 September 2024 in Ustroń. The Conference is organized by the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology, the Department of Safety Engineering and the National Association of Workers of Health and Safety Services Katowice Branch Industry-Mining.

During the conference, topics related to broadly understood security will be presented as a multidimensional task faced by employers, scientific units and social organizations in the period of transformation and existing social and economic threats.

Among the invited speakers will be representatives of leading scientific, research and industrial units in Poland, such as the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, the University of Economics in Katowice, the Central Mining Institute, the Central Mining Authority, the Central Institute for Labour Protection, the Social Insurance Institution, the Mine Restructuring Company and the National Association of Occupational Health and Safety Workers Katowice Industry-Mining.

The conference will enable the exchange of knowledge and valuable experience between representatives of science and industry, as well as a wide discussion in a friendly atmosphere. The event will take place on September 19-20 in Ustroń, at the Belvedere Hotel.
