CRASP Appeal
Appeal of the Presidium of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland on participation in elections to the European Parliament.
Twenty years ago, our country became a full member of the European Union. It is a privilege, but also a commitment. Participation in the general elections – national and European – was and is our civic duty. It is also a testament to the recognition of common European values – respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and human rights.
On June 9th, 2024, elections to the European Parliament will be held in our country. They are an excellent opportunity for individual and community declaration of commitment to these values.
We appeal to all citizens of Poland, to the entire academic community – including students – to participate in these elections. Our participation will make them a real celebration of European democracy.
May the people we choose contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Lisbon Treaty, strengthen the role of education and science in shaping public policies, and responsibly point out the directions of the social, cultural, and economic development of the Union.
The future of Europe is in our hands.
