Silesian University of Technology at the European Economic Congress 2024
From 7th to 9th May 2024, the 16th edition of the European Economic Congress will take place at the International Congress Centre. Silesian University of Technology will also participate in this important event. We would like to invite you to visit the stand of the Silesian University of Technology and participate in debates with the participation of our scientists.
The biggest economic event of the year in the Silesian Voivodeship is ahead of us. The event will be attended by representatives of the world of science, politics, and business, as well as leaders of domestic and foreign institutions. During over 180 debates and sessions, the European and global economy, social changes, and civilizational trends, as well as contemporary challenges will be discussed. The theme of this year’s edition is “Transform today, change tomorrow. Transformation for the future.”
This year, the Silesian University of Technology will again be an active participant of the European Economic Congress, and it invites guests and participants to visit its stand. During the three-day congress, we will present the achievements of students and the most interesting research projects.

“The future of the region is in the hands of scientists.”
The Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Arkadiusz Mężyk will talk about cooperation between scientists and companies in the Silesian Voivodeship, as well as about education for the needs of the market and the fields of study of the future, in which the Silesian University of Technology already educates today.

“Cyber threats – the Great Challenge of the present”
Dr Eng. Jarosław Homa will talk about the challenges related to cyber threats that we all face today. We will talk about new forms of cyberattacks and ways to fight these threats, but also reveal the role played by the Centre for Cybersecurity of the Silesian University of Technology in this process.

"Aviation of the future"
Dr Hab. Eng. Jarosław Kozuba, prof. of the Silesian University of Technology - the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering at SUT, will present the prospects for the development of aviation and aviation industry and will tell you what challenges the creators of this progress are facing, whether Silesia is a good place of learning for future pilots and aircraft mechanics and what role the Silesian University of Technology plays in the education of aviation personnel of the future.

“Climate neutrality, is it possible?”
Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Anna Skorek from the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering at SUT will tell you what conditions must be met in order to achieve a zero balance of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere in 2050, whether an atom instead of coal is enough and what are the possible scenarios of energy transformation in Poland.
In addition to discussions at the Silesian University of Technology stand, you will also be able to meet our scientists at numerous debates. Among the topics that will be undertaken by experts of the Silesian University of Technology will be technologies for climate, technologies supporting green transformation in construction, mineral raw materials, industry 4.0, sustainable urban logistics, as well as the engineer’s labour market.
