The Engineering Fair of Jobs, Entrepreneurship, Technology and Accessibility is under way
The Silesian University of Technology hosts the 30th edition of Jobs, Entrepreneurship, Technology and Accessibility Fair. The fair takes place remotely on a dedicated online platform, while on March 11 it will take place in an on-site form in the hall of the Sports Centre of the Silesian University of Technology.
The fair is addressed primarily to students and graduates, but also to students of secondary and vocational schools, who are faced with the choice of an attractive educational path in the context of the expectations of the labour market.
The on-line edition of the event started on 4 March 2024 on a dedicated platform where you can visit virtual exhibitors’ stands and see presentations about their activities and recruitment needs, as well as download current job offers. Interested parties will also be able to contact the selected employer via the platform and arrange a remote meeting.
The opportunity for direct meetings will be an event in the on-site, stationary version, which will take place on 11 March 2024 in the Sports Centre of the Silesian University of Technology, at 28, Kaszubska Street.
There will be 120 exhibitors in the exhibition hall, including employers interested in cooperation with representatives of the academic community, institutions providing substantive and/or financial support to young entrepreneurs, as well as student scientific circles and organizations enabling young people to develop their scientific passions.
During the event, as part of a special Advisory Zone, you will be able to consult application documents, take part in a simulated recruitment conversation and get feedback on your presentation directly from employment experts.
During the event, business advisors will also provide information about the possibilities of obtaining funds for starting one’s own business and formal and legal issues related to its operation. There will also be a mental health centre on the market hall. There will also be a bulletin board, where the latest offers proposed by the exhibitors will appear.
The organization of the fair is accompanied by the idea of increasing the cooperation platform in the field of strengthening practical elements of education at the Silesian University of Technology and the exchange of knowledge between business and academia. Such cooperation may concern the commissioning of new methods, the provision of materials for writing diploma theses, including doctoral dissertations, as well as consulting ideas for increasing the effectiveness of undertaken activities.
The exhibition hall will be architecturally accessible for people with mobility dysfunctions, there will also be assistants for people with disabilities, all video materials will be transcribed.
The official opening of the fair will take place at 10:15. During the event, the Year of Economic Education in the Silesian Voivodeship will be inaugurated, the results of the 20th edition of the “My idea for Business” competition will also be announced, and diplomas will be awarded to the winners.
