Become a volunteer in the team testing an autonomous minibus at the Silesian University of Technology

The recruitment of volunteers for the team supervising the BB-1 tests of the first Polish autonomous minibus at the Silesian University of Technology has started. Tests will start on November 13th, 2023.

The BB-1 minibus was developed by the Gliwice company BLEES in a consortium with the Silesian University of Technology. From November 13th, 2023, to December 31st, 2023, at 8.30 to 16.00 it will be tested on Akademicka Street in Gliwice.

We cordially invite students, PhD students and all employees of the Silesian University of Technology (scientific, administrative, engineering and technical and service) to participate (as volunteers) in the team supervising the minibus tests. We also invite all people who are interested in conducting research as part of engineering, master's, doctoral or other scientific works.

Important information for interested volunteers:

· the shifts of test supervisors will be agreed with you at times convenient for you (8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.),

· we organize meetings with BLEES regarding the minibus and the purpose of the tests, as well as meetings summarizing the tests,

· all people participating in the team supervising the tests will receive certificates from BLEES and the Silesian University of Technology about their participation in the tests of the first Polish autonomous minibus,

· the tests are carried out by a very creative team of employees of the Silesian University of Technology and BLEES and Autonomous Systems,

· tests at the Silesian University of Technology are extended to include the observation of passengers and passers-by, which is carried out in cooperation with the University of Silesia.

The recruitment of volunteers for the team supervising the tests of the BB-1 autonomous minibus is coordinated by the Industry 4.0 Centre of the Silesian University of Technology.

We are obliged to provide a list of people supervising the tests to the institutions granting permission to conduct tests. For this reason, you will not be able to join the test supervision team at a later date.

Additionally, people who take part in the tests will be invited to the BLEES headquarters for a study visit and will be able to personally see the work on this modern vehicle.
