Guest Lecture by Professor Mohamed Chehimi

On 27 October 2023, Professor Mohamed Chehimi will give a guest lecture entitled 'Surface modification with aryl diazonium salts. Methods and applications'. The event will take place at the Centre for New Technologies.

Professor Mohamed Mehdi Chehimi is Scientific Director at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). His main research interests are surface chemistry and XPS surface analysis of reactive and functional materials. He is particularly interested in the development of thin films and polymer nanocomposites and diazonium salts. He has recently started a new research project on the preparation of biocarbon-based materials and their applications in the treatment of tropical diseases.

Professor Chehimi is the author of nearly 400 scientific articles, more than 25 book chapters and three patents, and has been the editor of six books. His work has been cited more than 15,000 times (H-index = 63). Prof Chehimi is ranked in the top 2% of the world's scientists by Stanford University in 2022.

The visit is organised by the Centre for Organic and Nanohybrid Electronics of the Silesian University of Technology. The visit has been subsidised as part of the Pro-Quality Programme for Investment in Internationalisation Development with funds from the Excellence Initiative - Research University Programme.
