Sport, meetings with professors, visiting the campus - this is what awaits the participants of the camps, which will be organized for the first time by the Sports Centre of the Silesian University of Technology for students who will start their studies at our University from October. The sports and integration camp will take place in September on two dates. Registration has just started.

The first turn will take place from September 11th to 14th , and the second from September 14th to 17th . Those interested will be able to take part in sports activities in volleyball, basketball, futsal, table tennis, tennis, badminton and judo. They will be conducted at the facilities of the Sports Centre. Participants will be accommodated in Student Houses of our University.

During the three-day camp, in addition to classes in the selected sports discipline, the program includes, among others, visiting the campus and the most interesting places in Gliwice. In addition, a meeting with the authorities of our University, as well as professors who teach physics and mathematics, where they will present, among others, credit requirements.

- Participants will have the opportunity to train in several disciplines, and will also take part in meetings with lecturers of these subjects, from which most students drop out after the first semesters - says prof. Krzysztof Czapla, director of the SUT Sports Centre. - We want to present the requirements to first-year students, talk about supplementary classes, consultations, additional opportunities. We want to show them that the lecturers are friendly, encourage them to talk to them. In addition, they will have the opportunity to get to know and visit our University. Among other things, we will show them around the Mrowisko Student Culture Centre so that they know that there is a place teeming with culture, where you can rest and relax. I would really like to encourage them to live like a student, which is very important. So that they are not afraid to take advantage of the many opportunities offered by our University in the first year. After all, there are scientific clubs, student government. We want to prepare them well for what will happen to them in a moment. Give them the possibility of faster acclimatization, because when they start their studies in October, they will not even notice that there are already the first tests and exams. This is supposed to be a chance for them to find themselves in these realities faster.

The Sports Centre also organizes a tourist and recreational camp, also for first-year students. It will take place from 18th to 21st September at the Training and Leisure Centre of the Silesian University of Technology "CIS" in Szczyrk.

The program includes, among others: mountain tourism and visiting the Central Olympic Preparation Centre. Meetings with professors conducting classes in physics and mathematics are also planned at the camp.
