EURECA-PRO the start of the next stage

Three years after the launch of the European University for Responsible Consumption and Production (EURECA-PRO) in 2020, the consortium is entering the next phase. The university alliance secured funding from the European Commission (EC) for the second phase of the project in 2023-2027.

The EURECA-PRO university consortium will continue research and education in the field of responsible consumption and production, as well as activities aimed at creating a virtual and integrated European campus by 2040.

EURECA-PRO is an alliance of nine universities from Austria, Germany, Greece, Poland, Belgium, France, Spain and Romania. They all have a long history of collaboration and work together on a wide range of interdisciplinary topics.

The basis of the consortium's mission is the systematic implementation and promotion in society of the 12th goal of sustainable development, which is responsible consumption and production. EURECA-PRO's ambition is to provide education that supports efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and achieve the objectives of the EU Green Deal. To achieve this, EURECA-PRO combines teaching, research and innovation with flexible study programs in universities, focusing on sustainable development, academic excellence and strengthening European values.

In the next phase of the project, in 2023-2027, the alliance will focus on deepening cooperation with industry and politicians as well as society. EURECA-PRO will continue to promote innovative teaching, interdisciplinary research, scientific innovation and knowledge transfer to society.
