The Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis supports research on work safety in industry
The Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis will co-finance research aimed at improving and improving work safety in heavy industry plants in the Metropolis.
The project, which received a high rating from the members of the committee recommending the grant in the competition organized by the Upper Silesia and Zagłębie Metropolis as part of the "Metropolitan Fund for Science Support", provides for the development of a modern noise sensor supporting integrated work safety management in industrial plants at risk of excessive noise leading to hearing loss and occupational diseases among employees of these factories exposed to its exposure. The use of a noise sensor as part of the preventive measures will also enable the identification of irregularities in the operation of machines and devices used even in an explosive atmosphere, which will not only contribute to the reduction of noise emissions in the environment but will also enable early detection of emergency states of operated machines and devices. The research results will be collected and published in a monograph under the working title "Freedom and Security".
The issues addressed in the project are in line with the implementation of the goals contained in the strategic documents of the Metropolis and the Silesian Voivodeship, and also strengthen the innovative and intelligent economic transformation, and thus the competitive advantage of the region on the international arena.
The project "Occupational safety as a value, need and obligation in line with the idea of Industry 4.0" was co-financed by the Upper Silesia and Zagłębie Metropolis under the "Metropolitan Science Support Fund in 2022-2024" Program.
