Open Day at the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School in Rybnik

The Academic Secondary Comprehensive School of the Silesian University of Technology organized an Open Day. Last Saturday, on April 15th, primary school pupils had the opportunity to visit the school walls and get acquainted with the teaching offer in this facility.

The Open Day of the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School of the Silesian University of Technology attracted a large group of people interested in studying at this school.

- The day is full of attractions for our candidates. We have prepared a number of thematic workshops on subjects that are crucial for education at this school, starting with mathematics and physics, ending with foreign languages - said Krzysztof Lazaj, the headmaster of Academic Secondary Comprehensive School (ALO) in Rybnik.

Candidates could also take part in a sample lesson in the history of art with elements of architectural drawing.

- We plan to open three classes in the new school year. There will be two classes with an architectural profile and one class with a polytechnic profile. This class will be divided into two groups - Mathematics-Physics-Chemistry and Mathematics-Physics-Biology - added the headmaster.

There are 26 places in each class. During the Open Days, current ALO pupils argued that studying at the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School gives many benefits.

- This is not an ordinary school like the others in our city. There are many opportunities for development here, for example a mentoring program or participation in PBL projects. Thanks to this, outstanding people and those who want to develop can gain experience - said Marek Gojny from class III of a polytechnic profile.

Gloria Orzeszek from the class with an architectural profile also does not regret choosing this school. - Classes in the history of art and architectural and technical drawing will certainly be useful during the exams that we will have to pass when applying for admission to studies. If I had to choose a school again, I would choose ALO again, added the pupil.

ALO in Rybnik has been operating for only five years. Despite its relatively short history, year after year it achieves better and better results in secondary school rankings. After last year's Matura exam, the school was on the list of the 200 best secondary comprehensive schools in Poland.
