Open Day of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering

Visiting modern laboratories, lecture, presentation of the Faculty and scientific research of employees - the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering once again invited young people from secondary schools to its premises.

Young people listened to a popular science lecture by Dr Eng. Justyna Majewska titled: “ Can this feeling survive? Biochemical aspects of love ", which was also broadcast on the Faculty YouTube channel as part of the “Biomedical Engineering around us” series. Then they visited the modern laboratories of the European HealthTech Innovation Centre (EHTIC).

- We wanted young people to be able to learn what biomedical engineering is, so we show them various laboratories and also present our research capabilities - said Dr Eng. Justyna Majewska, Vice-Dean for Education.

The Faculty was visited, among others, by a group of this year's secondary school graduates from the 2nd Secondary School in Gliwice. - We have to make one of the most important decisions in our lives soon, and such an open day shows us a lot, the faculty is beautiful and modern, we can see for ourselves - said Małgorzata Zymek, a pupil at the Secondary School in Gliwice. - You can find out about the university from the guide, but coming to the university and seeing what it looks like in person will definitely help us make a choice - added Andrzej Sanocki, a pupil of the Secondary School in Gliwice.

The young people also met with students of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, who presented what the faculty's science clubs do.

- What distinguishes us, apart from modern equipment and enthusiastic academic staff, is the unique, family atmosphere at the faculty. This was pointed out by the Polish Accreditation Committee, which visited us last year and talked to both students and teachers, so this is a rather credible assessment. It is simply worth joining us - argued dr hab. Eng. Pawel Badura, prof. SUT, Vice-Dean for Infrastructure and Organization.
