Project "University Teaching Excellence" for the Silesian University of Technology

The Silesian University of Technology was among the universities that received funding as part of the project "University Teaching Excellence". Project tasks include improvement of the teaching process, development and improvement of employees' competences.

The project "University Teaching Excellence" is financed by the Knowledge Education Development Operational Program and co-financed by the European Social Fund. The funds are intended for increasing the competences of university staff and thus improving the quality of education. The Silesian University of Technology was among the universities that received funding. The project will be implemented at our university until September 30th, 2023. The project co-financing value for the Silesian University of Technology is PLN 676 618.33.

- “The individual project tasks include the improvement of the quality management system of the didactic process as well as the development and improvement of employees' competences, in the scope adequate to conduct education in a given field of study “- said prof. Anna Chrobok, director of the College of Studies of the Silesian University of Technology.

The aim of the project, apart from improving the competences of the teaching staff, is to expand the resources of the teaching base of the Silesian University of Technology. 

-“ In the area of improving the education process, an important aspect is the system for the development of teaching competences of academic teachers at the Silesian University of Technology, also in the field of work with students with special educational needs (SEN), and in particular with specific learning difficulties, exceptionally gifted and experiencing an adaptation crisis and migration related to education abroad. Additionally, the high expectations of students, especially in the field of remote education, affect the need to improve the ICT system for the implementation of the education process in a remote, hybrid and mixed form. To meet these challenges, it is necessary to develop adequate methods and procedures, their implementation and evaluation” - added prof. Anna Chrobok, director of the College of Studies of the Silesian University of Technology.

The offer of the developed trainings will be made available to the academic community in the near future. Recruitment will start in early November. The project will be implemented at the College of Studies of the Silesian University of Technology.
