Cyber Science postgraduate studies will start in October

Knowledge in the field of cyber security management - will be acquired by students of Cyber Science postgraduate studies, which will start in October. The Silesian University of Technology is its co-organizer.

From December 2021, the Silesian University of Technology, the University of Silesia in Katowice, the University of Economics in Katowice, and Scientific and Academic Computer Network – NASK National Research Institute will form the CYBER SCIENCE Silesian Centre for Legal Engineering, Technology and Digital Competence, undertaking scientific and didactic research related to cyberspace.

The Centre - in collaboration with several business partners and organisations, including Cyfrowa Polska - will run postgraduate studies in Cyber Science, which will start in October.

Cyber Science postgraduate studies are designed for those who wish to acquire or expand their knowledge and skills in cyber security management. ‘Nowadays, this knowledge is highly sought after in the public administration, financial sectors, and in every major company. Therefore the acquired knowledge and skills and a certificate obtained upon completion of the studies may be a ticket to an interesting and well-paid job’ - said the Centre's Deputy Director professor Paweł Kasprowski.

The students will gain theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of, among others, cyber security management or tokenisation and automation of business processes. ‘What is important, upon completion of the study, the students will receive a Certificate of Competence and Confirmation of Qualifications of the Polish Informatics Association: ”Cyber Security Management – Manager”’ - Kasprowski reported.

The study will be conducted in a blended format. Lectures will be available in the VOD model two weeks before the classes, and weekend classes will be limited to workshops, exercises, and networking. Classroom meetings will be held several times at universities and study partners - members of Cyfrowa Polska.

First lectures will start already in October, and the whole cycle of studies will end with a hackathon event (planned for the end of June 2023), which - as the initiators of the project emphasise - is to prepare students for new professional challenges and give project partners the opportunity to offer the best graduates internships and job proposals.
