On 14 April 2022, in the Senate Hall of the Silesian University of Technology, the award ceremony for the winners of the competition for "the Golden Record Book of the Silesian University of Technology" was held for the 6th time. The aim of the competition is to promote selected sciences among students from secondary schools and to select the most talented ones among them.
- Congratulations to the winners! I realise that the tasks in the competition are not easy, so I congratulate you on your success and, of course, invite you to study at our university. It is worth mentioning, that today's winners are included in the mentoring programme from the beginning of their first cycle of studies, throughout their entire education - said the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Arkadiusz Mężyk.

The mentoring programme is a significant development opportunity for students of the Silesian University of Technology. In the case of the "Golden Record Book" winners, if they decide to study at our University, they will choose themselves a mentor for the programme, who will be one of the academic teachers. They choose the field of activity in which they want to specialise. Then, they will receive support in this field.
The Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Education, Professor Wojciech Szkliniarz, PhD, DSc, has no doubt that the winners have received the key to a great career, and they should use it well.
- The are many benefits associated with the3 award. There is a possibility to co-finance international scientific trips, training and classes. The results of the competition are taken into account in all fields of study. The winners can choose what they want to study, regardless of the field in which the prize was awarded - adds the vice rector, Professor Szkliniarz.
This year's edition of the "Golden Record Book" had a genuinely nationwide character. Apart from students from schools in Silesian Voivodship, the laureates also included students from Inowrocław, Oleśnica, Mielec, Gdańsk, Zielona Góra and Lublin. They were assessed by a jury composed of academic teachers.

- When physics appeared in the timetable in my junior high school, I liked it very much. I enjoyed it much, that from the very beginning of my adventure with physics I was interested in various physics competitions until I found the one organised by the Silesian University of Technology. I am glad that I already have an option for my future studies," said Sebastian Liszka, one of the winners of the "Golden Record Book". In the field of chemistry, the prize went to Paulina Kuźnar. - It turned out to be sufficient to demonstrate general knowledge of the last four years of studies. Winning the competition is a nice start. SUT is a good university. In the future I would like to be a chemist or work in the field of pharmacy," said the winner.
The competition had two stages. The winners received first, second and third prizes. The main prizes for the 1st degree winners are places in almost all fields of study at the Silesian University of Technology and for the 2nd and 3rd degree winners additional points in the recruitment procedure.
