Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology at the Gliwice Construction Fair

Once again, the Faculty of Architecture presented its stand at the Gliwice Construction Fair, which took place in Arena Gliwice on 5 and 6 March 2022.

The fair was an opportunity to promote the scientific, teaching and creative achievements of both staff and students. The Faculty of Architecture received an award in the Best Stand category granted by the Silesian Chamber of Construction. The opening of the event was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Infrastructure and Promotion, Professor Tomasz Trawiński PhD, DSc, and the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Professor Klaudiusz Fross PhD, DSc, Arch.

- We always try to be innovative, improve our stands, surprise and raise interest. This time we presented furniture designs, small scale architecture and insect hotels designed by our students.

We immediately established contacts for the implementation of these projects. I would like to thank the main organisers of the exhibition Krzysztof Groni PhD, the jury of the fair, and the Vice Dean Tomasz Bradecki PhD. Special thanks go to the President of the Silesian Chamber of Construction, Mariusz Czyszek MSc, Eng. for awarding the prize in the Best Stand category - said Professor Klaudiusz Fross PhD, DSc, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture.

The award gala was attended by the Mayor of Gliwice, Adam Neuman, and the Municipal Conservator of Monuments, Ewelina Pokorska-Ożóg. Dean Fross awarded two BenchMan statuettes in the categories of a Polish design model of single-family passive and energy-saving buildings and renovation, reconstruction and conservation of historic buildings in public spaces. A special distinction statuette from the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture was awarded to Wioletta Ochman, manager of the fair.
