Time Capsule at the Silesian University of Technology
What did the work of an architecture student look like in the 1970s and 1980s, what did they work on, what tools did they use - you can find answers to all these questions out by visiting the Time Capsule, which was placed in the building of the Centre for New Technologies of the Silesian University of Technology.
The Time Capsule is back! Created in 2017 for the 40th anniversary of the Faculty of Architecture, the capsule has returned to the Silesian University of Technology. It can be viewed on the fourth floor of the CNT (Centre for New Technologies) building.
"It is a unique, unprecedented exhibition, a return of memories to the old years of studies and the beginnings of creative work. For architecture students, the Time Capsule is an obligatory place for history lessons, an opportunity to learn about old techniques for creating project documentation. Maybe we will find there a moment of reflection or a reference to the present day. I invite you, it's worth experiencing it again" says Professor Klaudiusz Fross, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture.
The glass capsule presents the workshop of an architecture student from the 1970s and 1980s in Poland. The capsule was accompanied by 4 information plates presenting the authors, consultants and donors of the exhibits. It is worth seeing it again and reminiscing about the old times. You can turn on the music with a film by clicking on the posted QR code. And you can go inside by clicking on the photo in the VR 360 gallery on the Faculty's website.
