Artur B. Chmielewski is a guest of the Silesian University of Technology
This year, the Silesian University of Technology will host an exceptional expert in the field of space technologies – Artur B. Chmielewski, an engineer and project manager associated with NASA, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the California Institute of Technology. His visit will be an opportunity to meet students, scientists, and secondary school pupils, as well as to exchange experiences and discuss the future of space exploration.
Artur B. Chmielewski will take part in the official inauguration of the new academic year at the Silesian University of Technology during which he will deliver a lecture titled: “What will we do in space in 5, 10 and 30 years and what your role in it will be?” However, the event will be only one of the highlights of his visit to the University.
On Thursday at 10.00 a.m. in the Student Activity Centre there will take place a meeting of Artur B. Chmielewski with the members of student science clubs of the Silesian University of Technology, which deal with issues connected with space technologies. Young designers and scientists will present their projects, achievements, and ongoing projects, and then have the opportunity to talk to a NASA expert about their ideas, experiences, and plans for the future.
At 3.00 p.m. at the Centre for New Technologies a meeting with scientists from the Silesian University of Technology is planned. It will be a space for exchanging knowledge and experiences and discussing the most important challenges facing the space sector and modern technologies today.
Friday will begin with a meeting with young science enthusiasts. At 8:30 a.m. at the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School in Gliwice Artur B. Chmielewski will meet with ALO pupils from Gliwice and Rybnik as well as youth from Gliwice secondary schools. This is a unique opportunity to hear first-hand what it's like to work on the most ambitious space projects and what it takes to become a member of the NASA team.
Artur B. Chmielewski's visit to the Silesian University of Technology is not only a meeting with a world-class expert, but also an excellent opportunity to present the University's potential, innovative projects and research conducted by its scientists and students.
