POL-OPENSCREEN 2.0 test vouchers

Do you have an idea for a research project, a promising hypothesis, or a pool of chemicals that you want to verify experimentally? Until June 30th, 2026, scientists, doctoral students, and biotechnology startups can apply for support worth up to PLN 50 thousand for pilot biomedical and biotechnology research.

The call for the POL-OPENSCREEN 2.0 research vouchers program implemented by the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań has started. The program enables the verification of the potential of research hypotheses, new chemical molecules, and technological solutions at a very early stage of development. The support includes access to advanced research infrastructure, including high-throughput screening (HTS), imaging methods, and consulting.

The obtained results can be used to plan further research, prepare a grant application, establish cooperation with partners, or further develop a solution with an implementation potential.

The program is aimed at doctoral students, doctoral students, researchers, research teams from universities and research institutes and biotechnology startups, including spin-off and spin-out companies that develop their own R&D departments.

Three call dates are planned:

  • 30 June 2026.
  • 31 March 2027.
  • 31 March 2028.

The results of the call for proposals in 2026 will be published by 31 July 2026

Why is it worth applying for a research voucher?

The purpose of research vouchers is to enable the performance of research that helps assess the potential of the project and prepare it for further development. The program supports projects at an early stage when rapid experimental verification can reduce the risk of investing time and resources in an idea or project with insufficient potential.
