Nuclear Energy Open Day – an invitation

Silesian University of Technology invites to the Nuclear Energy Open Day, which will take place on the 17th of June 2026 at the Education and Congress Centre of the University of Silesia in Gliwice (Konarskiego Street 18B). The event is addressed to students, candidates for studies, researchers and all interested in the development of the nuclear sector in Poland.

The Nuclear Energy Open Day is an event that has already permanently entered the calendar of the Silesian University of Technology. The participants of the meeting will be primarily young people – pupils of secondary schools and university students, who have entered the education path in areas important for the nuclear sector or are looking for the right directions of education for themselves.

The program includes workshops, discussion panels, and meetings with representatives of leading institutions and industry companies. Participants will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with current market challenges, required competences and career paths in a dynamically developing sector. A session devoted to direct contacts between representatives of institutions and companies with students and secondary school pupils has also been planned.

A special highlight of the event will be the discussion panel “Nuclear energy – national personnel and competences” with the participation of representatives of: Ministry of Energy, Office of Technical Inspection, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, Polish Nuclear Power Plants and ORLEN Synthos Green Energy. The second panel – “Global players on the domestic market – the needs of the nuclear sector” – will bring together representatives of EDF, Westinghouse Electric Poland, Candu Energy / AtkinsRealis, GE Vernova and the Chamber of Commerce for Energy and Environmental Protection.

We also invite you to the workshops organized by Women in Nuclear: “Female and male engineers in nuclear power industry – from curiosity to career,” during which we will discuss how to plan one’s own development path in one of the most future-oriented industries. The workshop combines an engineering perspective with practical tips for career planning and networking. The workshop is dedicated to students of engineering faculties of the Silesian University of Technology, as well as those interested in working in the nuclear energy sector and related technological areas.

The workshop is subject to registration via the form:

The event is held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Education and the Ministry of Energy, and its organization is supported by PTE Desire.

We cordially invite you to participate and discuss the future of nuclear energy in Poland!
