International seminar within the framework of the “Nawa Strategic Partnerships 2025-2027” program
From the 11th to 13th of May, the first international seminar of the grant partners under the “Nawa Strategic Partnerships 2025-2027” program was held at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio. Grant project: “Partnership for the Protection and Modernization of the Architecture Heritage of the Second Half of the 20th Century in the Perspective of Green Transformation and Environmental Challenges”, is implemented by the Department of Theory, Design and History of Architecture of the Faculty of Architecture in cooperation with the Department of Structural Engineering of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
The project manager is Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Arch. Magdalena Żmudzińska-Nowak. The seminar was attended by representatives of the Silesian University of Technology (project leader) and the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Technical University of Crete, University of Beira Interior, Technical University of Valencia (project partners).
The main objective of the project is to support academic units in the field of scientific research and building scientific and didactic potential through internationalization and mutual exchange of knowledge and experience between centres. The objective is based on the creation of an international, collaborative research network and the integration of joint activities for the research and protection of architectural heritage of the second half of the 20th century. This cooperation enables coordinated and long-term research activities to respond to contemporary environmental and climate challenges.
Building a lasting partnership involving research, constant exchange of information and monitoring of mutual experiences is not only a valuable knowledge base for the activities carried out under the project but also contributes to strengthening the presence of the Silesian University of Technology on the international arena.
