Artificial intelligence and robotics in medicine – sign up for studies!

The Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology together with the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice invites for free postgraduate studies in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Medicine.

Artificial intelligence and robotics have great potential in medicine, enabling, among others, improving diagnosis and optimizing treatment, and the medical robots used in various surgical procedures enable precise and minimally invasive interventions, including in rehabilitation or patient care.

The participants of the field of studies: Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Medicine - staff employed in the biomedical sector - will gain skills enabling the design, implementation and evaluation of innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence and robotics, which will contribute to the improvement of the quality of healthcare, shortening the time of diagnosis, increasing the precision of treatments and improving medical processes.

Classes last only two semesters and are conducted on a weekend basis. Hybrid formula (online meetings and on-site meetings) will allow for a peaceful combination of learning and professional work.

The studies are financed by the Medical Research Agency as part of the original project entitled "Innovative medicine based on facts, IT, AI and robotics".

The aim of the project is to enable medical personnel employed in the biomedical sector to complete their professional qualifications by acquiring specialist knowledge and practical skills necessary in a dynamically developing medical environment dominated by modern technologies.

The participants of the studies may be people who are employed in the biomedical sector, i.e.:

  • employees of medical entities within the meaning of the act of 15 April 2011 on medical activity, or
  • medical professionals, or
  • persons employed in companies with a pharmaceutical profile, medical devices, IT solutions for the healthcare sector, clinical research, biotechnology – regardless of the form of employment, or
  • university staff with a biomedical profile or
  • staff of the administration of the health system and the public health area, excluding staff of the Medical Research Agency.

The project is addressed to graduates of the first or second degree studies or uniform Master’s studies, employed in various positions in all types of medical entities, for representatives of public institutions related to health care (e.g. NFZ, SANEPID, health departments from local government units, central offices dealing with health issues), employees of universities pursuing didactics in the field of medical sciences, health sciences or pharmaceutical sciences and employees of the private sector acting for the benefit of the health care system (e.g. pharmaceutical industry, medical devices, investments in health care. The participants of the studies may be persons whose professional experience in the biomedical sector referred to above is at least one year.

The recruitment will last until the 26th of April 2026.
