Great success of a dance couple from the Silesian University of Technology

On the 15th of November 2025 in Olsztyn, during the Polish Championships of the Polish Dance Society in Latin American dances, a dance couple from the Silesian University of Technology composed of Barbara Skarka, a senior assistant from the Foreign Languages Centre and Dr Hab. Eng. Wojciech Skarka, Prof. SUT from the Department of Fundamentals of Machinery Design at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering won a gold medal, thus receiving the title of Polish Champions in their age category.

This is not the only success of the couple, because on the 26th of October 2025 in Lubin, during the Polish Dance Society Championships in standard dances, these employees of the Silesian University of Technology also won a silver medal, thus receiving the title of 1st Vice-Champions of Poland in their age category.

Let us remind you that Mr. and Mrs. Skarka have been dancing together for several years. For many years, these SUT employees were in the Polish National Team of the Polish Dance Society. Couples with this title represent Polish Dance Society in competitions on the international arena and at the most prestigious events in Poland.
