Silesian University of Technology among the Top 200 European Universities in the Leiden Ranking 2025
The Silesian University of Technology has advanced in the prestigious CWTS Leiden Ranking 2025, achieving the 196th position in Europe and thus placing among the top 200 universities on the continent. Globally, the University was ranked 664th, marking an improvement of 19 places compared to 2024.
Among Polish higher education institutions, the SUT was ranked 6th, while maintaining its position as the highest-rated academic institution in the Upper Silesia region.
In the CWTS Leiden Ranking Open Edition 2025, based on open publication data from the OpenAlex database, the University achieved even higher results – 186th in Europe, 629th worldwide, and 5th among Polish universities, reaffirming its leadership status in the region.
The CWTS Leiden Ranking, developed by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University, focuses on analysing the scientific performance of universities worldwide, evaluating factors such as the number and impact of research publications and the extent of international collaboration.
