The success of the participant of the “Politechnika Project”!

We are very happy to announce that Emil Pająk, a graduate of the 5th Andrzej Strug Secondary Comprehensive School with bilingual wards in Gliwice, who was last year awarded in the “Politechnika Project” program, achieved a spectacular success. Emil won the main prize in the “Explory” competition – the largest competition for young innovators in Poland, and one of our scientists also contributed to his success.

Emil Pająk’s awarded project, entitled "Magnetic materials with shape memory as the future of soft robotics" , was carried out under the supervision of an employee of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, Dr Eng. Błażej Tomiczek from the Scientific and Didactic Laboratory of Nanotechnology and Material Technologies.

For his innovative project, Emil received a scholarship of PLN 15 000 funded by ORLEN, and additionally he will represent Poland at the prestigious international competition Regeneron ISEF 2026 in the USA – the world’s largest scientific event for young researchers.

This is not the only distinction that Emil has recently received for his scientific activity. In September of this year, he received a special prize in the European Union Contest for Young scientists (EUCYS) in Riga. He is also the winner of the first place in this year’s 51st National Youth Astronomical and Astronautical Seminar and is the winner in the category "Physical Phenomena Show" in the national competition Physical Paths.
