Silesian University of Technology has established cooperation with Atlas Ward
On the 30th of June 2025, the Silesian University of Technology established cooperation with Atlas Ward Sp. z o.o. The agreement was signed by the Vice Rector for Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment, Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marcin Staniek, Prof. SUT and the Director of Development and Innovation, Łukasz Wieruszewski.
Atlas Ward sp. Z o. o. is a nationwide civil engineering company that offers comprehensive solutions in the field of consulting, design, production, and implementation. Its potential enables the management of many investment processes at the same time. Over the course of over 25 years of its activity, it has completed 800 buildings with a total area of over 6 000 000 m².
- It is a company with great potential, which specializes in the construction of production facilities, warehouses, sports, or commercial and service facilities. Atlas Ward focuses on cooperation with universities and wants to develop R&D activities - says Vice-Rector Marcin Staniek. – Within the framework of the agreement, we will conduct research projects. Consultations are also held on the involvement of its employees in conducting lectures in the field of civil engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
Combining science with industry is an important aspect for the Silesian University of Technology, and another signed agreement only confirms this. The cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and Atlas Ward will be in force in the research, education, and human resources areas. This implies a number of benefits for scientists and students of the Silesian University of Technology. It includes organizing student internships and work placements, obtaining topics for students’ diploma theses, organizing didactic trips for them and recruitment of engineering staff from the graduates of the Silesian University of Technology, in accordance with the needs of Atlas Ward.
The start of cooperation came a few days after the announcement that the field of civil engineering at the Silesian University of Technology was recognized as the best in Poland in the 26th edition of the Ranking of Higher Education Institutions “Perspektywy 2025”.
- We were surprised very positively by this information about winning the ranking. We are very happy that we managed to establish cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology. We look forward to many joint actions in different fields. By organizing internships, trips, or placements, we want students to get to know the Atlas Ward brand well. That is why we encourage them to work with us. As a civil engineering company, we care about the development of civil engineering field, and for this we will also need good experts and specialists after graduation - says Director Łukasz Wieruszewski.
The event was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Barbara Klemczak.
- We try to cooperate with civil engineering companies and conclude as many agreements of this type as possible, because real contact with the industry and real construction practice are very important for our students, as in this case, e.g. through trips to building sites or participation in practical lectures - explains the Dean Barbara Klemczak.
