Silesian University of Technology has been included in the latest edition of the prestigious US News Best Global Universities 2025-2026, which assesses the quality of scientific activities. In the overall ranking of Polish academic universities, Silesian University of Technology ranked 12^th, and among technical universities it took the 4^th place.

Ranking prepared by the editorial board of the American weekly "U.S. News & World Report” covers 2 250 universities from around the world and is based on 13 indicators - mainly bibliometric, focusing primarily on scientific achievements and the impact of publications. It takes into account the scientific reputation – on a global and European scale, as well as the number of scientific publications, joint international work, and the percentage of the articles in the “most cited” group.

The strong position of the Silesian University of Technology in the field of research is confirmed by high positions in the “Engineering” and “Energy and Fuels” categories, in which the University was classified respectively - in 365^th place and 385^th place in the world. This is one of the best results among Polish universities and at the same time confirmation of the growing importance of science conducted at the Silesian University of Technology in the international dimension.

In the general ranking in Europe, the Silesian University of Technology was classified on the 432^nd place, and in the global ranking, covering all continents, on the 1243^rd position. The university was also included in the global ranking “by subject,” as follows:

- 365^th place in Engineering (6t h position in Poland, 4^th among Polish technical universities)

- 385^th place in Energy and Fuels (2^nd place in Poland, 1^st place among national technical universities)

- 406^th place in Materials Science (8^th position in Poland, 4^th among Polish technical universities)

- 434^th place in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 4^th place in Poland, 3^rd position among national technical universities)

- 682^nd place in Physical Chemistry (8^th place in Poland, 4^th place among Polish technical universities)

- 678^th place in Computer Science (6^th place in Poland, 4^th position among Polish technical universities)

- 792^nd place in Environment/Ecology (7^th place in Poland, 3^rd place in Poland)
