A meeting regarding the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Hydrogen Technologies in Rybnik is behind us
Rybnik bets on the future. On the 24th of June, a meeting of representatives of the Silesian University of Technology, the Rybnik City Hall and representatives of the local community took place in the branch of the Silesian University of Technology in Rybnik. The main topic was to discuss the role of the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Hydrogen Technologies – a project that is already becoming a symbol of the region’s energy transformation.
The event in the Rybnik branch of the Silesian University of Technology was also attended by secondary school pupils who followed with interest presentations and discussions on modern energy technologies, especially hydrogen – the pillar of the Rybnik Hydrogen District ROW 2.0.
The meeting was aimed not only at presenting the assumptions of the project, but also at an open discussion about its future and impact on the broadly understood transformation.
It is worth recalling that #COZEiTW is an initiative worth over PLN 27 million, financed from the Just Transformation Fund, which assumes the creation of modern research and education infrastructure: Hydrogen technology laboratories, Eco-House Energy laboratory, mobile laboratory for diagnostics of photovoltaic panels and RES competence centre. It is not only an investment in infrastructure, but above all in people and competences of the future.
There were also voices of concern – residents expressed their opinions on the planned logging of several trees in connection with the implementation of the investment. Representatives of the University ensured that all activities will be carried out with respect for the natural environment. The branch of the Silesian University of Technology in Rybnik plans to carry out planting operations and proper maintenance of greenery around the Laboratory of Eco House Energy.
The residents present at the meeting were assured that the construction works will be carried out with care for nature and the well-being of the residents.
Today’s meeting is another step toward building a modern, low-emission Rybnik. The city that not only responds to the challenges of the future but actively contributes to them.
