Three Minute Thesis® – Polish your English!
For the first time at the Silesian University of Technology, the three Minute Thesis® competition was held in English. The elimination in the Centre for New Technologies was joined by PhD students of Silesian universities who wanted to test their communication skills and share their scientific activities.
This year, for the first time, PhD students of Silesian universities could test their skills of scientific communication in English during the three Minute Thesis® – Polish your English competition. The pre-qualifiers are behind us, during which the jury evaluated video presentations and “live” eliminations at the Centre for New Technologies. Young scientists from the Silesian University of Technology, the Silesian Medical University and the University of Economics took part.
Jury composed of: Prof Aleksandra Ziembińska-Buczyńska, Prof. Piotr Wodarski and Prof. Andrzej Katunin – selected 10 participants for the finals:

The three Minute Thesis® – Polish your English finals will take place on June 6 at 18.00 in the Silesian University of Technology Library. It is open to the public; it will also be streamed on the YouTube channel of the Silesian University of Technology.
The organizers of the Competition are Science Popularization Centre, The University Self-Government Council of the Doctoral Students,’ Doctoral School of Silesian University of Technology. The patronage was taken by: National Representation of Doctoral Students, The Council for the Promotion of the Public Understanding of Science PAS of the Polish Academy of Sciences and EURECA-PRO. The founder of the engineering award is EMT-Systems.
In the second half of May, registration for the Silesian edition of the 3MT® competition in Polish will also begin. Qualifying rounds and the finals will be held in November 2025.
