Gliwice Choral Meetings with the participation of the Academic Choir of the Silesian University of Technology
In May, Gliwice will again become the capital of choral music! On the 9th –11th of May 2025, the 42nd edition of Prof. Czesław Freund Gliwice Choral Meetings will take place. It is a festival that has been attracting choral singing lovers from all over Poland for years. This year’s edition will be unique, because one of its main events will be the concert “Canticum Canticorum” in the ruins of the Victoria Theatre, organized as part of the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Academic Choir of the Silesian University of Technology and the Silesian University of Technology.
The 42nd Gliwice Choral Meetings named after prof Czesław Freund are an excellent opportunity to immerse oneself in the world of choral music, both in its classical and modern version. We invite all lovers of singing and the beauty of sound for three days of unforgettable musical experience! This year’s festival will consist of three concerts and choral workshops.
The festival is held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Gliwice Katarzyna Kuczyńska-Budka, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk and Bishop of Gliwice Sławomir Oder. The patron of the event is also the Silesian Union of Choirs and Orchestras.
The event is organized by the Association of Friends of Culture and Academic Choir of the Silesian University of Technology, co-organized by the Victoria Culture Centre in Gliwice. The partner of the festival is Energomiar. The project is co-financed from the budget of the city of Gliwice.
