A visit of the Ambassador of Rwanda at the Silesian University of Technology
On March 31st, 2025, the Ambassador of Rwanda visited the Silesian University of Technology. Prof. Anastase Shyaka, met with the Rector of the University Prof. Marek Pawełczyk. The Ambassador also took part in the first defence of the PhD of a Rwandan citizen at the Silesian University of Technology.
This is another visit of the Ambassador to our University. The meeting was an opportunity to talk about strengthening cooperation. Let us remind you that 11 students from Rwanda currently study at the Silesian University of Technology.
- “Among the technical universities in Poland, it is at the Silesian University of Technology that the largest group of students from this country study. They feel well here, as the Ambassador assured me. They are happy to invite members of their families to Gliwice. They also have the opportunity to present and develop their culture. Let me remind you that in 2022 the Silesian University of Technology held the Day of Rwanda, during which students from this country shared with us their customs, cuisine, there were presentations of traditional Rwandan dance, we also organized sports competitions.” – said the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Marek Pawełczyk.
On the day of the Ambassador’s visit to the Silesian University of Technology, the first defence of the PhD of a Rwandan citizen at our University - Jean Baptista Baranyika took place. It was attended by the Ambassador. Prof. Anastase Shyaka.
- “Cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology is going very well, as evidenced by today's defence of the doctorate - said during the meeting with the Rector, Prof. Anastase Shyaka. “We are counting on further development of this cooperation,” - added the Ambassador.
