Today, on Wednesday, December 18th at 16.00, we invite you to participate in the VI webinar on “International Project Collaboration”, which will be hosted by Michael Lepech and Piotr Moncarz.
For an ambitious Polish university, international cooperation is one of the most important aspects of building recognition. This webinar focuses on projects implemented in collaboration with institutional, industrial and academic partners around the world. Strategies and opportunities for establishing global partnerships will be presented, issues of development and implementation of innovative projects seen from the substantive perspective of Stanford University will be discussed.
Michael D. Lepech is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at the School of Engineering and the Doerr School of Sustainability at Stanford University. His research develops fundamental engineering design concepts, models and tools that are closely integrated with quantitative sustainability assessment and life-span modelling at various length scales, from material scale to city scale, as well as in the early phases of design, design engineering and engineering systems lifecycle. He serves as a faculty director at the Stanford Centre for Sustainable Development and Global Competitiveness (SDGC), the Stanford Centre at Incheon Global Campus in South Korea (SCIGC), and the Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP).
Dr Piotr Moncarz is an engineer, entrepreneur and scientist connecting the public and private sectors. Stanford University Doctor and former assistant professor spent 40+ years at Exponent, retiring as a Senior Fellow. In 2003 he co-founded the Polish American Trade Council and in 2011 he ran the Top 500 Innovators program at Stanford University. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering of the United States and a member of the American Association of Civil Engineers. In 2024, he founded Poland in Silicon Valley Centre, creating a vibrant, dynamic bridge connecting Polish institutions with rapidly developing Silicon Valley innovations.
