On October 21st, the ceremony of awarding professor nominations took place at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw. The title of professor in the field of engineering and technical sciences in the field of environmental engineering, mining and energy was received by Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marcin Lutyński, an employee of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering, and Industrial Automation SUT. The nominations were presented by the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.
Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marcin Lutyński is a professor in the Department of Geoengineering and Resource Exploitation at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering, and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology.
His scientific interests focus on the issues of capture and storage OF CO2, underground storage of gases and energy, mineral engineering, and circular economy in the mining industry. He has completed a number of scientific internships in foreign centres such as the University of Technology in Delft (the Netherlands), Southern Illinois University Carbondale (USA) and Imperial College London (UK). He is an expert in national and European research agencies. He is also the author of over one hundred publications in scientific journals. He has led a number of scientific and educational projects, both national and international.
