Lots of ideas and only 3 minutes! Summary of Three Minute Thesis® eliminations
Young scientists started the elimination for the 7th Silesian edition of the Three Minute Thesis® competition to test themselves in a three-minute presentation about the PhD. Who will talk about the research during the finals on November 29?
In this year’s eliminations of the Three Minute Thesis® competition, 17 PhD students representing the Silesian University of Technology, the University of Silesia and the Medical University of Silesia participated. During the 3-minute presentations, the young researchers were able to test their scientific communication and self-presentation skills. One of the aims of the competition is to present doctoral theses in the context of the importance of research to society. And it worked perfectly – among the topics were: support in cancer treatment, the use of intelligent materials in ophthalmology, energy and actions for green transformation, modern education, media influence in the context of selected communities.

After a difficult discussion – due to interesting and diverse speeches – the jury selected ten participants who will perform in the finals:

The finals of the Silesian edition of the three Minute Thesis® competition will take place on Friday, November 29, at 18:00 in the Student Culture Centre “Mrowisko” at 85, Pszczyńska Street in Gliwice. The event is free and open to the public.
The Silesian edition of the three Minute Thesis® competition is implemented in the City – Region – Academy band as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024.
