Trip from international bus stadion, Sadowa transfer centre to the University
The best way to get to the building of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering from towns located to the west, north and east of Katowice is to leave the car on the border of Katowice's downtown and continue your journey by tram. Dedicated to such a complex form of movement is the Park and Ride terminal, which is part of the "Sadowa transfer centre". Access to the car park is possible from local roads in the immediate vicinity of the interchange. The general scheme of the route between the Sadowa transfer center and the University in a tram journey is shown in the figure below
Trip from Sadowa transfer Centre to the University includes the following steps:
- Use of elements of the infrastructure of the interchange, including walking on foot between the car park and the "Katowice Sobieskiego" tram stop, approximately 250 m long
- Tram ride on any tram line with courses in one of the following directions: Zawodzie, Myslowice, Szopienice. Get off at the fourth stop called "Katowice Graniczna". The bus stop is located at the intersection of Warszawska, Graniczna, Dudy-Gracza and 1st May streets.
- walking on foot, approximately 450 m long, from the "Katowice Graniczna" tram stop to the University, along Graniczna and Krasinskiego Streets.
After leaving the car or leaving the bus at the interchange, go towards Gliwicka Street. Due to the large area of the interchange, this crossing can be implemented in two ways:
- Sadowa Street and then Jana III Sobieskiego Street
- Sadowa Street and then Plac Wolności
The passage routes between the interchange and the Katowice Sobieskiego tram stop are shown in the figure below.
In order to reach the University, get off the tram at the "Katowice Graniczna" stop. The stop is located at the intersection of Warszawska, Graniczna, 1st May and Dudy-Gracza streets. Then, walk about 450 m from the stop to the University building, first along Graniczna Street, then along Krasinskiego Street, where the University is located. The access route is shown in the figure below.
More detailed information on the arrival and departure times of trams and tram lines that can be used to make the start and end of the journey as close as possible to the expectations and needs is obtained through the journey planner. Travel times and scheduled departure times, as well as the frequency of the service, depend on the time of day. In the "From" combobox, enter the name of the tram stop: "Katowice Sobieskiego". In the "Destination" combobox field, enter the name of the tram stop: "Katowice Graniczna". The completed form should look like the picture below.
Parking in the Sadowa transfer center is payable, and the payment is made in advance for the planned parking time in the vending machine located in the parking lot or in the application.
