Trip from Brynow transfer center to the university

The best way to get to the building of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering from towns located south of Katowice is to leave the car in the suburbs of Katowice and continue your journey by tram. Dedicated to such a complex form of movement is the Park and Ride terminal, which is part of the Brynów transfer center. Access to the car park is possible directly from the road No. 81, on which it is located, and from other local roads in the immediate vicinity of the interchange. The general scheme of the route between the Brynów transfer center and the university by a tram is shown in the figure below

The trip between the Brynow transfer center and the University includes the following stages:

1. Use of the infrastructure elements of the interchange, including the walking between the car park and the "Brynów Centrum Przesiadkowe" tram stop with a length of about 200 m
2. Travel by tram directly to the destination or with a change between tram lines on the Katowice market square
3. Walking, approximately 450 m long, from the "Katowice Graniczna" tram stop to the University, along Graniczna and Krasinskiego Streets.

The individual stages of the trip with the numbers assigned in the above figure, identifying the key elements of the trip, are characterized below.

As part of the Park and Ride system, the Brynów interchange center includes two car parks marked in blue in the figure below.

For travelers, there is a multi-storey car park, a large-area car park and a separate car park at ground level.

After parking the vehicle, go to the "Brynow Centrum Przesiadkowe" tram stop.

Each tram line serving the Brynow transfer center provides access to the center of Katowice, but direct travel between the interchange and the "Katowice Graniczna" tram stop is possible only by tram lines that go from the interchange in one of the following directions: Zawodzie, Szopienice, Myslowice.

Unfortunately, in the trip planner, it is not possible to limit the search to direct connections only. Traveling in the indicated relation is also possible with a change between tram lines on the Katowice market square. Get off at the "Katowice Rynek" tram stop and go to the "Katowice Rynek Teatr Śląski" tram stop, covering a distance of about 150 m. In order to reach the University, a change at the Katowice market square is necessary, when at the Brynow transfer center we start our trip with tram lines departing in the following directions: Chorzow, Bytom, Welnowiec and Siemianowice. The way of crossing during a change in the Katowice market square is shown in the figure below

In order to reach the University, get off the tram at the "Katowice Graniczna" stop. The stop is located at the intersection of Warszawska, Graniczna, 1st May and Dudy-Gracza streets. Then, walk about 450 m from the stop to the University, first along Graniczna Street, then along Krasinskiego Street, where the University is located. The access route is shown in the figure below.

More detailed information on the arrival and departure times of trams and tram lines that can be used to make the start and end of the journey as close as possible to the expectations and needs is obtained through the journey planner. Travel times and scheduled departure times, as well as the frequency of the service, depend on the time of day. In the "From" combobox, enter the name of the tram stop: " Brynów Centrum Przesiadkowe (Katowice)". In the "Destination" combobox field, enter the name of the tram stop: "Katowice Graniczna". The completed form should look like the picture below.
