The subject of the research work was to organize and carry out traffic measurements on the voivodeship road network as part of the General Traffic Measurement 2015 and to carry out the following calculations and analyzes:
- calculation of the average daily annual traffic,
- calculations of the traffic generic structure,
- comparative analyzes between SDRR 2015 and SDRR 2010,
- Calculation of the traffic forecast for 2020,
- analysis of the nature of the traffic,
- load calculations,
- calculation of transport work,
- determination of the SDRR load distribution.
The above analyzes and calculations were carried out on the basis of data received from the Employer and data from traffic measurements carried out as part of the work in question. Traffic measurements and calculations of the average daily annual traffic and the traffic type structure were made according to the Guidelines of the General Traffic Measurement on Provincial Roads in 2015, developed by the Department of Investment Preparation of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways under the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, Department of Roads and Motorways.
The study required calculations and analyzes to link the obtained SDRR results on national and provincial roads. Traffic measurements under GPR 2015 were carried out in accordance with the schedule defined by GDDKiA (six series of measurements, including one night measurement). The duration of the daily measurement depended on the measurement point type and was 16 hours for the P and M point types (6:00 - 22:00) and 8 hours for the W points (8:00 - 16:00). The night measurement was carried out only for points type P and M, and lasted 8 hours (22:00 - 6:00).
During the performance of traffic measurements, vehicles of the following categories were counted:
- bicycles
- motorcycles, mopeds (scooters), quads
- passenger cars (up to 9 seats with a driver), minibuses (up to 24 seats with a driver), pickups and motorhomes, with or without a trailer
- light trucks with a gross vehicle weight up to 3.5 t, with or without a trailer
- trucks with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons without trailers, special cars, tractors without trailers
- trucks with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 t with one or more trailers, tractors with semi-trailers, ballast tractors with standard or low-loading trailers
- buses, trolleybuses
- agricultural tractors with or without trailers, self-propelled machines (road rollers, excavators, etc.)
Traffic measurements were carried out at the defined 262 measuring points of the hard surface provincial road network, excluding road sections located in cities with poviat rights. The length of the voivodeship road network of the Silesian Voivodeship as at the work date was 1,217,104 km.
The basis for the implementation of the research work was an agreement between the Ordering Party: Silesian Voivodeship, and the Contractor - the Consortium of companies: Silesian University of Technology (consortium leader) and TLD Project Tomasz Bzdyra (member of the consortium).
