A cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology and the District Labour Office in Zabrze has been concluded with the aim of developing scientific and educational cooperation supporting improvements in the local labour market. The agreement was signed on 16 September at Zabrze City Hall in the presence of Mayor Kamil Żbikowski. The partnership provides for joint educational and training activities, as well as the organisation of internships, traineeships, training courses, workshops and seminars aimed at developing competences and preparing participants to function effectively in the labour market.

“We intend to create an integrated system for exchanging information on employers’ needs, which will make it possible to respond more precisely and effectively to the demands of the contemporary labour market. Students and graduates will also gain direct access to career advisers who will help them plan their careers effectively and gain their first professional experience,” emphasises Prof. Aleksandra Kuzior, Dean of the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology.

Through expert analyses and innovative research projects, the Faculty of Organization and Management will contribute to forecasting economic trends and responding more effectively to employers’ expectations. The agreement also provides for the implementation of research and development initiatives, which will help activate the economic potential of the city and the region.

The meeting at Zabrze City Hall also provided an opportunity for discussions with Mayor Kamil Żbikowski and representatives of the municipal authorities. The Mayor spoke highly of the role played in the city by the Faculty of Organization and Management, which not only enriches the educational opportunities available to young residents of Zabrze, but also attracts numerous students from the region, Poland and abroad. The participants also discussed opportunities for further initiatives aimed at making Zabrze an even more attractive place to study.

“Cooperation with the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology provides an opportunity to combine the knowledge and experience of the academic community with that of labour market institutions. We want to use these opportunities primarily in activities aimed at developing competences, supporting professional activation, and better preparing people entering or returning to the labour market,” says Elżbieta Szymacha, Director of the District Labour Office in Zabrze.
