On 19 March, another meeting of the Social Council was held at the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology. The meeting was opened by the Chair of the Council, Kamil Żbikowski, Mayor of the City of Zabrze. The main topic of the session was the launch of a new first‑cycle degree programme, Public Safety and Crisis Management, with a practical profile, at the Silesian University of Technology Branch in Rybnik.

The developed curriculum aims to educate specialists with competencies in identifying and analysing threats, risk management, organising crisis response systems, and ensuring the safe operation of organisations and technical infrastructure. The programme has been designed to address the needs of the modern economy, particularly enterprises in the infrastructure and industrial sectors.

Members of the Social Council received the information about the planned programme with great enthusiasm. A lively and constructive discussion followed, highlighting the potential of the new educational offer and its significance for the region, the entire country, and the labour market. Following a vote, the Council unanimously supported the launch of the programme.
