The lecture will be delivered by Dr. hab. Rafał Żelazny, President of the Management Board of the Katowice Special Economic Zone Co., entitled:
“Money Has GPS: Why Do Investments Choose One Place and Avoid Another? Investor Logic in 45 Minutes.”

The event will take place on 19 March 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in Auditorium C3 at the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology in Zabrze, 26 Roosevelta Street.

Professor Rafał Żelazny specializes in innovation, the knowledge-based economy and the information society. He is the author of several dozen scientific publications and numerous articles in national and international journals. He works at the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Economics in Katowice. In business practice, he serves as President of the Katowice Special Economic Zone – the leader among Polish special economic zones and the best industrial zone in Europe according to the fDi Intelligence Financial Times 2025 ranking. Prof. Żelazny has extensive expert and consulting experience. He has been the author and co-author of numerous development strategies, reports and expert analyses concerning the information society, regional economy and innovation. He has cooperated, among others, with the National Science Centre, the authorities of the Silesian Voivodeship, the TECHNOPARK Gliwice, and the Regional Centre for Analysis and Strategic Planning.
