Power plant without secrets
How does one of the most modern conventional power plants in Poland operate—not only generating electricity but also contributing to the stabilization of the national power system? This and many other questions were answered during a field trip by first-year students of the “Cognitive Technologies and Social Media” program. The trip was part of classes in “Fundamentals of Sustainable Development” taught by Prof. Aleksandra Kuzior and field training led by Dr. Dariusz Krawczyk, held at the Nowe Jaworzno Power Plant, which is part of the Tauron Wytwarzanie group.
During the visit to the new 910 MW power unit, students discussed topics related to sustainable development, environmental protection, and corporate social responsibility. They also spoke with engineers responsible for electricity production, fuel supply security, and oversight of pollution control systems. Additionally, the tools used at Nowe Jaworzno Power Plant for managing internal and external communication were presented.
The trip was made possible through the cooperation between the Faculty of Organization and Management and Tauron Polska Energia. The visit was coordinated on behalf of Tauron Wytwarzanie by Patrycja Hamera – Acting Director of the Transformation and Communication Department, Krzysztof Sokół – Duty Engineer at Nowe Jaworzno Power Plant, as well as Elżbieta Guzikowska and Tomasz Leśniowski.
