Dear Students,

We are proud to inform you that as part of the "Initiative of Excellence – Research University" program, an exceptionally interesting album has been created, showcasing pre-war vacuum tube radios produced by the Polish manufacturer of radio receivers, T.R. ELEKTRIT from Vilnius. The folder was developed as part of the project "Pre-war vacuum tube radios produced in Poland – studying the legacy of Silesian technical heritage," carried out with high school students. The initiator and academic supervisor of this project is Dr. Hab. Eng. Mariusz Ligarski, Professor at the Silesian University of Technology – a faculty member of the Department of Economics and Computer Science, and the assistant supervisors are: Ms. Martyna Bętkowska, MSc – PhD student at the Silesian University of Technology, and Mr. Robert Kufel, MSc – II Secondary School in Tarnowskie Góry.

Students from II Secondary School in Tarnowskie Góry have familiarized themselves with a large collection of pre-war radio receivers, taken hundreds of photos, and gathered information about selected radios. Based on this, they have prepared a publication in the form of a color folder. This publication concerns the radio receivers of the largest pre-war Polish manufacturer – Elektrit from Vilnius, which employed 1,100 people and exported its products to many European countries, India, Brazil, South Africa, and the Middle East.
