On December 9, 2024, the awards gala of the Educational System Development Foundation (FRSE) took place at the Polish History Museum in Warsaw, where the winners of the EDUinspiracje competition were announced. The awards recognized initiatives in the categories of social education, ecology, synergy for education, digital skills, and equal opportunities.

The Silesian University of Technology received a distinction in the category of equal opportunities for its project entitled “Smart learning for gait physiotherapy – a standardized tool for health higher education in Europe”, led by Dr. hab. Eng. Joanna Bartnicka, Prof. of SUT.

The awarded project focuses on innovative practices in the digital era, supporting inclusive higher education systems, and reducing skills gaps. By utilizing modern digital solutions, the project effectively addressed the identified need for better preparation of academic teachers, students, and medical professionals in the field of physiotherapy, with a particular emphasis on gait therapy.

The educational tool created as part of the project is an innovative and intuitive platform that uses advanced information and communication technologies (ICT). The platform provides remote access to practical, up-to-date knowledge, going beyond theoretical foundations to facilitate a better understanding of key issues. The project introduces standardization in physiotherapy education across Europe, ensuring the accessibility and professionalism of educational resources.
