Kick-off meeting of the SET_HEAT European project
On October 25-26, 2023, a Kick-off meeting was held of the SET_HEAT project no. 101119793, financed under the LIFE program of the European Commission. The project manager is Prof. Jacek Kalina, and the leader of the consortium, consisting of 12 partners, is the Silesian University of Technology.
The project aims to accelerate the energy transition and decarbonization of district heating (DH) in four targeted Eastern European countries through the integration of low-grade heat sources in high-temperature DH networks. The overall concept is to trigger tangible investment projects through the direct involvement of DH companies and relevant stakeholders in a collaborative planning process, which aims at sharing ideas and joint development of replicable model investment projects. The project will also feature a significant transfer of knowledge from numerous previous EU and national projects and the mobilization of stakeholders.
